Sugaring Off:

As soon as the temperature begins to rise above freezing, the maple trees come alive with activity. The sap flows almost as quickly as the melting snow. This is maple syrup time!

Come wander along the snow packed trails through the myriad of maple trees. See the sap actually flow through the lines to the collector tanks. Visit a sugar shack where the sap is boiled in an evaporator. When the consistency and temperature are just right, steamy maple syrup is poured off into huge vats and readied to be bottled.

In Haliburton, there's a whole lot more than syrup to whet your maple palette. Dozens of varieties of maple syrup for young, old, and young at heart. Maple barbeques sauces, salad dressings, and candies. Not to mention, maple wine!

Everyone loves maple syrup. Visit the many sugarshacks and savour the whole maple syrup holiday experience.
