Subject: Total Fire Ban in Haliburton County Lifted
With recent rainfall, effective immediately on Thursday, Aug. 28, 2025, the total fire ban that was enacted throughout the County of Haliburton on Aug. 5 has been lifted. This means that outdoor nighttime burning is once again permitted between 7 p.m. and 7 a.m. in the townships of Algonquin Highlands, Minden Hills, Highlands East and Dysart et al.

Effective at noon on Tuesday, Aug 5, 2025, there will be a total fire ban throughout the County of Haliburton, including the townships of Algonquin Highlands, Minden Hills, Highlands East and Dysart et al. This means no outdoor burning any time of day or night.
Bonfires, fireworks, torches and the lighting of charcoal barbecues, as well as any other light sources that use an open flame, are prohibited. Cooking fires are also prohibited. Violating the ban will result in fines. Propane and gas...

Civic Holiday office closure
Please note the County of Haliburton Administration Office will be closed on Monday, August 4th, 2025 in observance of the Civic Holiday. The office will re-open on Tuesday, August 5th, 2025 at 8:30am.
