Help form the future of the Haliburton Highlands

Continuing the process of the Destination Management Plan which began in 2019, the County of Haliburton will be hosting a Visioning Workshop on October 19, 2020 from 1-4 pm.
The event is open to the public to ensure that the whole community has an opportunity to contribute in developing the future of tourism in the Haliburton Highlands.
During the 3-hour session, everyone will have a chance to provide feedback and help prioritize the various initiatives in the Draft Plan.

Over the past months, the governments of Ontario and Canada have launched a number of programs to assist with funding the expansion of broadband internet. The County of Haliburton has decided to take steps to ensure government funding is secured to improve broadband internet connectivity in the under-served areas of our county.

Rail Trail Round Table - October 8th 2020

Take Notice there will be a Round Table discussion regarding the Haliburton County Rail Trail, via web conference, on Thursday, October 8, 2020 at 1:00 PM in the Council Chambers, located at 11 Newcastle Street, Minden, ON.
The purpose of the Virtual Meeting is to:
- Review and update the County’s Rail Trail 2004 Master Plan
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this meeting will be held virtually and broadcasted to the County's Youtube page, where members of the public can view the meeting

Ontario Implementing Additional Public Health and Testing Measures to Keep People Safe

TORONTO — In consultation with the Chief Medical Officer of Health, local medical officers of health and public health experts, the Ontario government is tightening public health measures. At the same time, in response to the second wave of COVID-19 and in preparation for the cold winter months, the government is taking action to reduce testing turnaround times while prioritizing those who are at the greatest risk.
