Media Release
September 19, 2025
The County of Haliburton along with the Haliburton Highlands Family Health Team (HHFHT), is pleased to announce that Cicily “Cici” Cooper will be joining the family health team this fall.
Cici has committed to a 0.8 FTE permanent position and will be starting by November 1, 2025.
Awarded a Master of Science in Nursing, Family Nurse Practitioner at the University of California in 2020, Cici has been practicing and living in California since.
Their primary responsibilities will be to provide health care to unattached, poorly attached, and equity deserving population. The ultimate goal will be to enrol patients so that they have a permanent health care provider. Enrolment details have yet to be worked out as under Ontario’s current model nurse practitioners in FHTs with an associated FHO do not enrol patients, the associated physician group does.
Kimberley Robinson, Executive Director of the Haliburton Highlands Health Team has plans for Cici to “assume care of between 480 - 640 however this is dependent on patient complexity."
Cici stated, “The Haliburton Highlands and Kawartha Lakes region is a stunning area to call home, as I have learned through numerous visits to meet my partner’s family. Our family returning to this important place is a dream come true and I am thrilled to put down roots here. I look forward to joining the Haliburton Highlands Family Health Team in its support of this vibrant community.”
“On behalf of the County of Haliburton, I want to extend a warm welcome to Cici and express my enthusiasm that they have chosen our County to practice and live,” said Haliburton County Warden, Dave Burton.
Please join us in welcoming Cicily Cooper FNP to the area.
