Our My Haliburton Highlands tourism website has been restored following a recent cybersecurity incident that caused visitors to be redirected to a fraudulent virus notification. 

The affected website was taken offline as soon as we became aware of the issue. County IT investigated the incident, removed the malicious content, and implemented additional security measures before restoring the website.

Our investigation indicates that the incident was targeted at the website and intended to display a fraudulent notification to visitors. We have no indication that confidential County information was involved or accessed.
