• Bancroft Community Transit runs a weekly bus between Wilberforce, Cardiff, and Bancroft, and around the towns of Bancroft and Wilberforce. They also may be able to provide volunteer drives for other appointments for families, youth, and adults living in the Highlands East area.

You can also use your own networks to connect with others. Try posting in social media groups, if you feel comfortable, or talking with neighbours along your road. If you are looking for transportation to an event, call the people organizing to see if they can connect you with others in your area who might be able to offer a ride.

There is a bulletin board at the Haliburton School of Arts and Design for ride-sharing and the local taxi company, Hyland Taxi, will try to arrange for shared taxis when they can.

You may be eligible for employment supports to help get you to work if you are receiving social assistance (Ontario Works of ODSP). Speak with your caseworker to learn more. It's worth talking to your employer or potential employer about support with transportation. They might be willing to be flexible with shift times or help establish a ride-share program with other employees.
