State of Emergency continues for County of Haliburton and Minden Hills TownshipOn March 31st, the County of Haliburton and the Township of Minden Hills together declared a state of emergency due to a significant weather event that took place between March 28th – March 30th. Since the start, recovery efforts have been taking place throughout the region and a County and Township emergency operations centre continues to monitor the situation.

The County of Haliburton and Township of Minden Hills would like to advise residents that during ongoing recovery efforts after this weekend’s significant weather event, travel throughout the County should be limited.
Many of our seasonal roads are still unpassable and travel to secondary properties is not encouraged at this time.

County of Haliburton Declaration of State of EmergencyHALIBURTON COUNTY, ON (Monday, March 31, 2025) - The County of Haliburton is declaring a partial state of emergency to support the Township of Minden Hills recovery from the significant weather event that occurred between March 28th – March 30th.
The County Emergency Operations Centre has been established and is monitoring the situation, working with the Township of Minden.

In response to a major freezing rain event in the area, The County of Haliburton, The Township of Minden Hills, The Township of Algonquin Highlands, The Municipality of Highlands East, and The Municipality of Dysart et al have declared a Significant Weather Event at 3:00pm local time that will impact travel and services throughout the County. This declaration is made pursuant to Ontario Regulation 239/02, Minimum Maintenance.Mar 28, 2025
