    The County of Haliburton invites you to test drive the latest electric vehicles for free on Saturday July 15th in partnership with Plug’n Drive.

    The event will take place at Abbey Gardens at 1012 Garden Gate Drive in Haliburton from 9:30am – 4:30pm.

  • Haliburton Highlands Health Services Emergency Department Consolidation Update

    May 18, 2023

    To Our Valued Community,

    As you may have heard by now, the difficult decision was made by HHHS to bring all of our emergency and in-patient (acute) service together at the Haliburton site.

    This means that as of June 1, 2023, emergency services will no longer be available at the Minden site.

    The Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry – Bracebridge Minden Parry Sound District is advising area residents that a Watershed Conditions Statement – Water Safety Bulletin is in effect in the district until Friday, May 26, 2023. This message will affect residents within the MNRF Bracebridge Minden Parry Sound District for portions of the District of Parry Sound, District of Muskoka, County of Haliburton and City of Kawartha Lakes within the Black River, Burnt River, French River, Gull.

  • MNRF Issues a Flood Watch Bulletin for the Gull River Watershed

    The Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry – Bracebridge Minden Parry Sound District is advising area residents that a Flood Watch bulletin for the Gull River Watershed is in effect until Thursday May 11, 2023. This message will effect residents within the MNRF Bracebridge Minden Parry Sound District in the County of Haliburton and City of Kawartha Lakes.

  • Closure of Minden Emergency Department

    Haliburton County Council fully understands the level of frustration and concern being voiced by the Minden community and surrounding area that is currently served by the Minden Emergency Department.

    Council met with Haliburton Highlands Health Services (HHHS) CEO Carolyn Plummer and Board Chair David O'Brien at a special meeting held April 27th to hear the rationale for their decision to close the Minden Emergency Room (ER) on June 1st.

    Call for Entries

    Through a partnership initiative between the County of Haliburton, Rails End Gallery, Limbic Collective, Haliburton Highlands Secondary School and Trillium Lakelands District School Board students, youth in Haliburton County are invited to express themselves as part of Safe and Well, an in-person and online art exhibition.

    Haliburton County residents between the ages of 12 and 24 are asked to share their thoughts and concerns on one or all of the four identified priority areas of.

    County Road Load Restrictions

    2023 SPRING LOAD RESTRICTIONS

    Under the Highway Traffic Act and County By-Law #2216, the County of Haliburton enforces reduced load restrictions on trucks to protect the County roadways during spring thaw, when road damage is most likely to occur.

    Reduced load limits will be in effect FRIDAY MARCH 17TH 2023 where signs are posted.
